Accident & Employment Claims Law Republic of Ireland and Northen Ireland

accidentclaimslaw.com website has been discontinued

This website is owned by Morgan McManus solicitors -   www.morganmcmanus.com - who practise in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

We thought long and hard before creating this website. The danger in creating a website with the title “accident” leads many to assume that we are a firm of Solicitors interested only in pursuing personal injury claims to the detriment of society. This was not what this website was about.

This website dealt with personal injury claims and employment law claims. It dealt with such claims from the perspective of both the Plaintiff and the Defendant (the Claimant and the Respondent), the employer and the employee and all other persons who have an interest in ensuring that they are fully informed when they are faced with claims of this nature.

This website was of benefit to the victim of a road traffic accident, a factory accident, an accident in a public place and many other incidents. It was of benefit to employees aggrieved at the manner in which they had been treated at their workplace. It was however also of benefit to a Respondent who is being sued, to the employer who faces a personal injury claim in respect of a factory accident and the employer who is obliged to deal with a grievance or disciplinary matter in the workplace.

It is important, whether Claimant or Respondent, that persons have information and the resources immediately available to them so that they know, in the first instance, how to deal with a Claim. It is more important that employers have this information to hand so that they can deal on a preventative basis with accident and injury claims and with employment issues. An employer who is armed with information on health and safety law and information on the increasingly developing complexities in employment law is better able to put measures in place to ensure that accidents do not occur and that employment problems do not arise.

Over and above the detailed resource information which we had given in this website, we had also provided Links to other very helpful resource websites which enabled visitors to this website to find out more information on issues of interest to them.

Through the News sections of our website, we kept our visitors informed of developments as they arose.

There was no other website of this nature in the island of Ireland.

The website complied with the Northern Ireland Solicitors (Advertising, Public Relations and Marketing) Practice Regulations, 1997 (As Amended) but regrettably the Republic of Ireland Law Society deemed the website to be an “advertisement” and therefore in breach of the Solicitors (Advertising) Regulations, 2002. We do not accept this position but we have been directed to withdraw the website.

As we are anxious to provide a comprehensive service to our clients in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland and show our knowledge of this complex area of the law it is difficult to see how we can do so when a website (which is by its nature available to the world) complies with the law in one jurisdiction but is deemed contrary to the law in a neighbouring jurisdiction (which is part of the same island). This is a circle which we are finding it difficult to square but for the present we must withdraw the website content.

During its short period of existence accidentclaimslaw.com received over 10,000 visits, which represented to us that there was a demand for this information on the island of Ireland. We hope that it provided assistance to persons and businesses who became involved in accident and employment matters, particularly where those matters related to cross-border issues.

For further information on the services which we provide please visit our website at www.morganmcmanus.com  or email us at law@morganmcmanus.ie . We still provide legal services in accident and employment matters.
